Infielder/outfielder Otto Kemp and starter Griff McGarry were named the winners of the Paul Owens Award, an organizational honor given to the top minor-league hitter and pitcher in the Phillies system each season, the club announced Monday.
Both 26 years old, the two players had standout performances in the minor leagues after spending a handful of years in the organization.
Kemp, who signed with the Phillies as an undrafted free agent in 2022, is currently on the big-league roster in Philadelphia. He earned his first opportunity in the majors in June after putting on a huge power display in the first two months of the season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
