Orioles reportedly sign Kyle Gibson to one-year contract

Former Phillies starter Kyle Gibson is in agreement with the Baltimore Orioles on a one-year contract, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.

Gibson, 35, spent the last two seasons with the Phillies. He was acquired in a trade with the Texas Rangers at the 2021 trade deadline. Gibson was the Phillies’ Roberto Clemente Award nominee in 2022.

In 43 games with the Phillies, Gibson posted a 5.06 ERA. He worked out of the bullpen during the postseason, throwing a scoreless appearance in both the NLCS and World Series.

Gibson struggled during his time with Philadelphia, but he was acquired to be an innings eater and he had done just that.
