Officer Jesse Hartnett To Throw Out First Pitch At Phillies Home Opener

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A Philadelphia Police officer shot in the line of duty will have a special role in today’s home opener.

Officer Jesse Hartnett will throw out one of the ceremonial first pitches before the game.

In January, Officer Hartnett was shot several times after a man with a gun ambushed him in his car in West Philadelphia.
