Max Kepler, like many of his Phillies teammates, is going through it.
The left fielder is 2-for-24 since his last home run on June 16. He returned to the lineup on Thursday with the Phillies facing right-handed starter Hunter Brown. He sat the previous three days against lefties.
The Phillies in 2025 have faced a left-handed starting pitcher 24 times. Kepler has started in only three of those games. The first two came within the first week of the regular season. The third was on May 30 against DL Hall, a lefty opener who pitched three innings before a right-hander, Quinn Priester, came in to pitch the final six innings.
