LOS ANGELES –As Shohei Ohtani transformed from pitcher to designated hitter from the dugout railing, Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had a question.
Ohtani was through five no-hit innings. He had only completed five innings once all year. They did not want to extend him beyond that, but Roberts, according to the Dodgers broadcast, asked Ohtani if he wanted another inning. Ohtani deferred to his manager. Roberts opted for the lefty Justin Wrobleski.
The hungover Phillies ambushed Wrobleski for six runs in the sixth and retook the lead in the ninth on a Rafael Marchan three-run home run in a thrilling 9-6 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
