Phillies bench coach Larry Bowa was ejected in the seventh inning of Tuesday night’s contest against the Mets by home plate umpire Dan Bellino for losing his cool after Hansel Robles quick-pitched a Phillies batter for the second night in a row.
Monday it was Cameron Rupp. Tuesday it was Darin Ruf. And Bowa was not about to have any more of it.
Jeff Francoeur started to get upset and make his way up the dugout steps after Robles’ first pitch to Ruf, but Bowa pulled him back and let Bellino know how he felt.
The reason Bowa was so upset was for the safety of the players.
