Kyle Schwarber, Phillies drill Dodgers to stay alive with Game 3 victory

LOS ANGELES — With the Phillies on the brink and trailing in Game 3, Kyle Schwarber finally arrived in this National League Division Series, demolishing a ball that nearly left Dodger Stadium.

Schwarber was hitless in his first two postseason games, leaving much to be desired from the furious Philadelphia slugger. But the designated hitter made his mark in the top of the fourth inning, hitting a monster home run to the top of the pavilion in right field. Schwarber’s first of two home runs sparked a three-run fourth that helped lift the Phillies to an 8-2 victory over the Dodgers on Wednesday night.
