Former Phillies utility infielder Kody Clemens has been a spark plug for the red hot Minnesota Twins.
Clemens was designated for assignment by the Phillies on April 23 and acquired by Minnesota in a trade for cash considerations on April 26. All he has done is hit.
Since the trade, Clemens is batting .318 with a 1.070 OPS. One of his home runs came with his father Roger in attendance against the Red Sox at Fenway Park on May 3. He also made an incredible throw on May 15 against the Orioles in Baltimore to gun down a runner at third in right field, a position he hasn’t played in two years.
