J.T. Realmuto finishes seventh in NL MVP voting

Philadelphia Phillies’ catcher J.T. Realmuto finished seventh in National League MVP voting, it was announced Thursday.

St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Paul Goldschmidt — who had previously finished runner-up for the award on two occasions — was voted the NL MVP:

Realmuto slashed .276/.342/.478 with 22 home runs, 84 RBIs, 21 stolen bases, an .820 OPS and a career-high 6.5 WAR, per FanGraphs.
