Philadelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto could be looking for a huge deal in free agency this offseason, according to a recent report.
Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reported on Saturday that the catcher will potentially be seeking the biggest contract in history for a player who plays the position.
“Realmuto is eyeing a record-shattering contract for a catcher, perhaps in the $200 million range,” Zolecki wrote.
The 29-year-old is set to become a free agent this offseason after spending the past two seasons with the Phillies. Since the team acquired him in a trade with the Miami Marlins in spring of last year, he’s slashed .
