With the winter meetings set to begin in the next five days, the Phillies will be looking to sign their first major free agent of the season. For weeks, the team has been connected to former Yankees shortstop Did Gregorius. When asked about the possibility of the team signing Gregorious this offseason, skipper Joe Girardi, who managed Gregorious from 2015 to 2017, praised his former player.

“I’ve always been a fan of Didi,” Girardi said to the collective press, including the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Matt Breen, on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park.
