PHILADELPHIA — The Phillies traded for Jesús Luzardo this past winter in the aftermath of a disappointing, injury-shortened 2024 campaign with the Miami Marlins. Following a first regular season in Philadelphia that included some painfully low lows mixed with tantalizing highs, the Phillies will trust the left-hander with the ball for Game 2 of the National League Division Series, manager Rob Thomson said Saturday prior to the team’s postseason opener against the star-studded Los Angeles Dodgers.
Luzardo will face off against Dodgers lefty Blake Snell, a two-time Cy Young Award winner, on Monday night at Citizens Bank Park, two days after Game 1 of this highly anticipated matchup.
