Jays sign former All-Star Domonic Brown to minor league deal

DUNEDIN, Fla. (AP) - Former NL All-Star outfielder Domonic Brown has signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Brown signed Thursday and was invited to big league spring training.

The 2013 All-Star hit .228 with five home runs and 25 RBIs in an injury-plagued 63 games with Philadelphia last season.

The 28-year-old Brown opened last season on the disabled list with an Achilles tendon injury and did not play after Sept. 2 because of a concussion. Brown decided to become a free agent rather than accept an outright assignment to the minors after the season.
