PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Former Phillies pitcher Jamie Moyer defended deposed General Manager Ruben Amaro Jr, who was relieved of his duties by the team last week, setting the stage for the organization to begin to restructure.
Moyer told Chris Stigall on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT that it was left to Amaro to accept the blame for the team’s struggles the past three seasons, following five straight trips to the playoffs.
“It’s hard to see. Somebody always seems to be the fall guy. Whether it be a particular player or a group of players, regardless of what sport you’re talking about.
