With David Robertson and his muscular calves now in tow, the Phillies have a better bullpen. He may not be as good as he was a few years ago, but the simple addition of Robertson, coupled with the subtraction of an inferior pitcher, makes this bullpen better.
It’s simple math.
The question must be asked though: does this signing of Robertson mean the team should be prioritizing a bat on the trade market instead of another reliever?
Signing Robertson helped them preserve some trade capital since acquiring his services cost only money.
