ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A local barber used to swing by Coca-Cola Park, maybe once or twice a homestand, to give haircuts to any IronPigs players who wanted one. Unfortunately for that professional, the Triple-A team stopped scheduling appointments.
This season, a simple call to the bullpen is all a player needs to get their hair cut at Triple-A Lehigh Valley, as reliever Devin Sweet can handle all requests inside the clubhouse.
“That’s my responsibility now,” Sweet said last week.
Sweet sets up shop in the clubhouse bathroom, equipped with everything a barber needs: Andi’s T-liners, Wahl fade blades, scissors, a cape, a neck duster, a spray bottle — you name it.
