PHILADELPHIA — To make a brutal loss sting even harder for the Phillies in Game 1 of the National League Division Series, the club’s outfield may be hindered as Philadelphia tries to climb out of an early postseason hole.
Center fielder Harrison Bader’s imprint was all over the Phillies’ early lead on Saturday night at Citizens Bank Park. He drove in J.T. Realmuto with a sacrifice fly after the catcher hit a two-run triple off Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani in the second inning. He made a spectacular diving catch in the right-center gap in the fifth. But after Los Angeles took the lead on a Teoscar Hernández three-run home run in the top of the seventh, Bader was removed in the bottom of the inning.
