Maikel Franco worked a hitter's count in each of his three at-bats on Saturday. And each of those at-bats were met with disappointment, as Franco's difficult month continued in a 4-1 loss to Arizona.
Franco never looked comfortable against Arizona ace Zack Greinke. Even when he found himself ahead of the count. He popped up twice after working a two-ball, no-strike count. Franco struck out in the seventh after being ahead, 3-0.
The slumping slugger is hitless in his last 12 at-bats. He is batting .208 in June with a .255 on-base percentage. Franco has hit four homers in his last 33 games after hitting seven in his first 31.
