Wednesday’s win over the Braves should give the Phillies confidence if they happen to meet them again in the playoffs. But in order to face the Braves in the playoffs, the Phillies will need to get to the NLDS. The best way to do that would be to win the NL’s top Wild Card berth. And the way to do that is by winning a majority of their upcoming games against a Mets team that has fallen well short of expectations.
The Mets are not going to make the playoffs and could officially be eliminated during this series.
