Well, it’s that season again. Not summer (though of course it is that season, too), but rather mock trade season. The dreamed-up deals are flying fast and furious. All-Stars and top prospects are boarding hypothetical planes and putting on imagined uniforms of could-be new clubs. It’s all somewhat ridiculous— but so many fun things are. That’s not a reason to avoid the pains and pleasures of imagined trades.
ESPN’s Dave Schoenfield recently put out an article with several proposed “Godfather” offers for top players. Among them was a trade to bring Byron Buxton from the Twin Cities to the City of Brotherly Love.
