Dickerson, Kingery lead Phillies to rebound victory over Marlins

After last night’s dreadful defeat, the Philadelphia Phillies (67-61) got out to a big lead and cruised to an easy 9-3 victory over the Miami Marlin (46-82).

The Marlins took an early lead in the bottom of the first. Lead-off man Jon Berti legged out an infield hit after third baseman Brad Miller’s throw was offline. After Berti stole second, Neil Walker was able to bring him home with an RBI single to right field:

The Marlins lead wouldn’t hold up for long as the Phillies would respond with a six spot in the third. Scott Kingery would launch an 85 MPH cutter that forgot to cut over the wall in left-center field for a three-run home run:

That wasn’t all for the Phillies.
