The Philadelphia Phillies are just getting their second half started with a strong desire to play better and finish out the year strong while maintaining their division lead, per MLB.com's Paul Casella. It now comes with the complication of missing third baseman Alec Bohm for an extended period of time with a fractured left rib.
The injury, which originally occurred in the Phillies’ penultimate game of the first half when Bohm was hit by the San Diego Padres’ Yu Darvish, now throws another wrench into the plans for the Phillies down the stretch run with no immediate backup plan for the Phillies to navigate.
