NEW YORK — Cristopher Sánchez was not at his sharpest. He threw 58 pitches through two innings, including 31 in the first.
Still, it was puzzling to see him come out of Tuesday’s game against the Mets after just two innings. Joe Ross took over in the third with the Phillies down 2-1. The Phillies announced in the fifth inning that he left the game with left forearm soreness. He’ll be further evaluated.
His sinker velocity was down at times. He averaged 94.7 mph on the pitch, which is down 1.2 mph on his season average. His sinker dipped to as low as 92 mph.
