Buehler? Phillies eye six-man rotation after signing former All-Star starter

PHILADELPHIA — The Phillies have had their sights set on a six-man rotation for a while. It was supposed to happen earlier this month, then ace Zack Wheeler was diagnosed with a blood clot. It left the Phillies without a suitable No. 6.

With a month left in the season, the club has found a fit. Philadelphia signed right-hander Walker Buehler to a minor-league contract on Sunday. There’s a man for the job and a plan in place.

The Phillies will aim for Walker to join the team — and the five other starters — on Sept.
