Phillies star Bryce Harper is out indefinitely after suffering a left thumb fracture, per Phillies Nation’s Nathan Ackerman. Harper was hit in the hand with a 97 mph fastball against Blake Snell in the fourth inning of Saturday’s game against the Padres.
Harper was writhing in pain after the hit. He was taken out of the game immediately and expressed some frustration at Snell.
With Harper out for weeks, possibly months, the Phillies offense is going to have to step up if they plan on staying within striking distance of a playoff spot.
