PHILADELPHIA — It took 59 home games for Trea Turner to finally get a ball to leave his bat and fly over the outfield wall at Citizens Bank Park. On Monday night in South Philadelphia, the odd trend that had continued throughout the 2025 season for the shortstop ended at last.
Turner hit a three-run home run, his first at home of the year, as the Phillies tagged Mariners starter Logan Gilbert for six runs in the second inning of a 12-7 win. The right-hander hitter’s shot also went down for his 1,500th career hit. He went 4-for-6 with five RBIs overall, while star first baseman Bryce Harper went 3-for-6 with two home runs in an offensive breakout.
