PHILADELPHIA -- The Phillies got a fine performance out of Jake Arrieta on Saturday at Citizens Bank Park. The Mets got a better one out of Jacob deGrom, who spaced seven hits over a complete game in a 3-1 Phillies loss.
Arrieta's errant pickoff attempt put Jeff McNeil on third base after a leadoff single in the fourth inning. Wilmer Flores plated McNeil with a single on the next pitch. That was it. Arrieta, lifted for pinch-hitter Roman Quinn in the bottom of the sixth, finished with four hits and one earned run over six innings.
