Eight losses in nine games and a bleak outfield situation does not quite mean it’s time to redirect your attention to the long-term future. Regardless, Aidan Miller is continuing to make that look better.

The Phillies’ No. 2 prospect walloped his sixth home run of the Double-A Reading Fightin Phils’ season on Saturday against Harrisburg. It was a long one:

The overall numbers for Miller this year — a .238 average and .706 OPS — don’t jump off the page, but Miller has found his groove in Reading the last week-plus. He’s hitting .324 with a pair of doubles and a pair of homers in his last nine games, with just one fewer walk than strikeouts.
