Aaron Altherr likely headed to disabled list

MILWAUKEE — Aaron Altherr said his strained right hamstring has not improved, and the Phillies’ best hitter is likely headed to the disabled list.

The Phillies will wait another day to make a decision. Altherr has not played since Friday night, when he doubled twice in five innings, but limped into second base. It’s possible that Altherr is replaced on the active roster by Cesar Hernandez, who has been on a rehab assignment with high-A Clearwater, and informed team officials that he is ready to return.

Hernandez will meet the team Monday in Miami. He has not played since June 9 because of a strained abdominal muscle.
