The Flyers have reportedly lost center Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, one of their alternate captains, in the expansion draft to the Vegas Golden Knights.
The official list of selections will be announced Wednesday night. Vegas will choose one player from each of the 30 teams.
Craig Custance of The Athletic reported that Vegas had selected Bellemare, who was a fourth-line center, a penalty killer, and locker-room leader with the Flyers. That might open a Flyers roster spot for Scott Laughton, who spent most of last season with the AHL’s Phantoms..
It had been expected that Vegas would pick left winger Michael Raffl or goalie Michal Neuvirth.
