There is no doubt the Flyers are Sean Couturier's team. The longest-tenured Philly athlete, after Brandon Graham's retirement this past spring, is the captain and consumate leader of the team. As far as the offense goes, Travis Konecny is the heart and soul. The defense...well, that's another matter.
Travis Sanheim is the third longest-tenured member of the Flyers, debuting for the 2017-18 season; a year after Konecny made his NHL debut. The 2014 first-round pick can no longer be considered a kid learning the ropes. He is the elder statesman of the defense. Couturier may lead the team, Konecny is the spark for the offense, but the defense will take its cues from Sanheim.
