It was a potential elimination night for the Islanders yesterday, and Game 5 started off with some jump, but it took us a while to really get going, in terms of generating really dangerous chances and testing either goaltender. Indeed, it took until the final five minutes of the first period for anyone to break through, and here it was Ryan Pulock on the power play, beating Andrei Vasilevskiy with just an absolute bomb, and the Islanders were off to a good start.
