Snap Shots: Revenge of the blackout, plus a stray roster thought

If blackouts weren’t annoying enough already, yesterday may have finally done the trick. The Philadelphia Flyers fell to the New York Islanders 3-2 in their first preseason game, but the showdown was by all accounts worth a watch. All six of the active Flyers’ defensemen were highly regarded young players with a future in Philadelphia, and the forwards were a combination of talented prospects and veterans fighting for a roster spot. As preseason games go, this one was a rough one to miss.

But alas, game recaps and tweets will be all most of us have to go on once again.
