After showcasing a poor effort in a 3-1 loss to the Boston Bruins in their last game, Philadelphia Flyers Head Coach Alain Vigneault decided to make his third round of cuts a little earlier than usual to give players that he feels will and could be on the roster when the regular season opens on October 4th more time to get used to his system. The Flyers will ice a veteran-heavy lineup against the New York Rangers for that reason, with Sean Couturier being the only roster lock that won’t suit up due to a maintenance day.
