The 21-year-old defenseman will forgo his senior year at Bowling Green State University in order to sign with the Philadelphia Flyers, who drafted him in the third round 86th overall in 2014.
Friedman in three years with Bowling Green scored 16 goals along with 52 assists and 143 penalty minutes in 121 games played.
Coming off his best collegiate season of his career, scoring 8 goals, 18 assists in 40 games, ranking fourth in goals, sixth in goals per games, sixth in points and tenth in power-play goals for defensemen in the NCAA. He was fourth in team scoring.
