Less than a week into preliminary action, Team Canada announced that they have added Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Philippe Myers to their 2019 IIHF World Championship roster. There were rumors that the Canadian squad was looking for another blue-liner and Myers is the guy who’s getting the role. Brandon Montour also went down with a lower-body injury so Myers will likely see some sort of ice time once he travels over to Slovakia.
Myers posted two points in 21 games with the Flyers last season but had 33 (9 Goals, 24 Assists) in 53 games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
