GM Ron Hextall has probably made his first big boo-boo as the GM of the Flyers as he let Chris Porter be sent down through waivers to the AHL, only to be claimed by the Minnesota Wild.

Chris Porter looked like one of the best Flyers in camp and in the preseason games, as he brought energy and grit to every shift. It is not a mind-blowing, season-ending travesty, but it does mean the Flyers just lost a good player for nothing. Hextall had to know other teams have had injuries and need depth, and to send down one of your higher performing forwards through waivers would be dangerous.
