God Bless America got things going on Thursday night in Philadelphia on Law Enforcement Appreciation Night.
Shayne Gostisbehere was all over the ice in the first, setting up Brayden Schenn for a glorious opportunity to open the scoring. Schenn missed a wide open cage due to being hooked, leading to a 5-3 man advantage.
Philadelphia couldn’t find a goal on three first period power plays, while shutting down both of Florida’s power plays.
Second Period
Goaltender James Riemer entered the Panthers net to start the second due to a Robert Luongo lower body injury that occurred in the first period on Philadelphia’s 5-3 man advantage.
