Goaltending has long been an issue for the Philadelphia Flyers, and this season was no different when it began.
Neither Brian Elliott, Calvin Pickard, nor Michal Neuvirth had save percentages above .900 in the month of October. The Philadelphia net-minders’ also had a Goals-Against Average (GAA) above three during the first month, and couldn’t find any consistency in their performances. Some of this was attributed to the Flyers struggling team defense, but at some point you need your goaltender to make the save and bail the team out when they surrender prime scoring chances.
