After re-signing Restricted Free Agent defenseman Travis Sanheim to a two-year contract, the Philadelphia Flyers have now traded away an RFA. The Flyers have sent forward Ryan Hartman to the Dallas Stars in exchange for Tyler Pitlick. Hartman’s name wasn’t mentioned too often when Fletcher spoke about the RFAs, and it seems he was either asking for too much money, wasn’t in the GM’s plan for the future, or a little bit of both. Obtaining Pitlick gives Philadelphia slightly more cap room to go out and re-sign more RFAs and get a backup goaltender.
