Matt Duchene is easily the best among the centers and forwards that will potentially hit the Unrestricted Free Agent (UFA) market on July 1st. He had one of the best, if not the best, seasons of his career this past year and likely earned himself a hefty payday this summer.
Duchene netted 70 points (31 Goals, 39 Assists) in 73 games between the Ottawa Senators and Columbus Blue Jackets during the 2018-19 campaign. Those numbers tied the career high he posted in the 2013-14 season with the Colorado Avalanche, scoring eight more goals than he did during that year.
