On this date in Flyers history: The Darren McCarty goal, bad things of that nature

Not a date for the faint of heart in Flyers history, but here we go with tales from June 5th.

After losing Game 1 of the 1995 Eastern Conference Final at home to the Devils, the Flyers were in need of a win in Game 2 to earn a split before heading back to New Jersey. The Devils’ defense suffocated the Flyers’ famed Legion of Doom in a 4-1 win in Game 1, but Eric Lindros, John LeClair, and Mikael Renberg were ready to go from the jump in Game 2.

Lindros opened the scoring just 7:08 into the game to give the Flyers early momentum.
