Hockey is back. Or, at least, the plan for hockey to be back is on.
The NHL announced tonight that its return to play plan, along with an extension of the current CBA with some modifications, has been ratified by the NHL’s players, with about 79 percent (502 in favor, 135 opposed) of the NHLPA membership voting to approve the plan to resume play. With this came confirmation of Toronto and Edmonton as the league’s two hub cities, as well as a schedule for the opening round of the tournament and other key dates on the new NHL calendar.
