As part of their 50-year celebration the Flyers brought back many of their captains Thursday night, including the first one in franchise history, Lou Angotti.

Angotti, a right winger who turned 79 last month, had 12 goals and 49 points in 1967-68, his only season with the Flyers.

When the Flyers started in 1967, Angotti said, only about 25 people were at a parade to introduce the players, who sat in convertibles.

"Forbes Kennedy said, 'I think these people think it is a car show,' " recalled Angotti, smiling at the remarks made by another original Flyer.
