Kevin Hayes the hero as Flyers top Blue Jackets in overtime, 4-3

Kevin Hayes scored with 1:09 left in overtime to give the Flyers a 4-3 win in overtime and their second over the Blue Jackets in the last few days amid a crowded Eastern Conference playoff race.

Travis Konecny, Nicolas Aube-Kubel, and Claude Giroux also scored for the Flyers, who got 28 saves from surprise starter Brian Elliott to strengthen their hold on the third playoff spot in the Metropolitan with the win.

In need of a strong start on the road, the Flyers would of course allow a goal just 44 seconds in as Oliver Bjorkstrand beat Brian Elliott to give the reeling Blue Jackets the all-important first goal.
