The Flyers may not have a finalist for a NHL award, but at least someone has taken home a prize for their performance in the 2018-19 campaign. In a season full of turmoil, there was always one shining star. And whether he was streaking at the Stadium Series game, or clotheslining goaltenders while dressed as Santa Claus, Gritty was always there when we needed him to be.
Last night Gritty won the “People’s Voice Award for Social: Athletes and Sports Teams” category at the 2019 Webby Awards, and with tweets like these.
