After getting claimed by the Philadelphia Flyers just over a week ago, goaltender Mike McKenna has officially cemented his place on the roster by earning the respect of Gritty.
The 35 year-old veteran ditched the solid black helmet and showed his new mask to the big, orange mascot on Wednesday. He also asked him to sign it, to which Gritty obviously obliged. The mask itself was made by Bishop Designs, is matte black with cool-looking orange accents, and has an American and checkered flag on top alongside a halo-wearing Gritty. I like the way it looks, personally.
