The Flyers recalled Colin McDonald from the AHL’s Phantoms and he will be in Saturday night’s lineup against the visiting New Jersey Devils.
McDonald, 32, will play right wing on a line with Chris VandeVelde and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare.
Travis Konecny, who had been the fourth-line right winger in recent games, will move to the top line at left wing and replace Matt Read. Read will miss the rest of the season with an arm injury.
The Flyers recalled McDonald instead of playing either Roman Lyubimov or Nick Cousins. If I’m reading the tea leaves correctly, Lyubimov won’t be with the Orange and Black next season and the Flyers will leave Cousins exposed in the expansion draft.
