Flyers listless in 4-0 loss to Islanders in Game 7

The Flyers continued the momentum after winning both Games 5 and 6 with a strong first 10 minutes, but the Islanders would take advantage of the next half of the period by making their chances count on the scoreboard.

Unlike the Flyers, who couldn’t parlay juicy chances early on, the Islanders converted in the form of a Scott Mayfield goal to open the scoring near the 10-minute mark with a perfectly placed wrist shot past Carter Hart to give New York an all-important 1-0 lead.

Andy Greene would extend the Islanders’ lead a few minutes later, beating a down and out Hart with a wrist shot of his own to push the lead to 2-0 as the Flyers stared down an uphill battle after 20 minutes.
