After offensive defenceman Jeremie Poirier locked up the No. 27 spot, we have skilled Finnish winger Kasper Simontaival coming in at No. 28 on our Community Draft Board. Although he comes in relatively undersized at 5-foot-9, this slippery forward has the ability to sneak past defences and create scoring chances for his team. In his second season with the Tappara U20 squad in the Jr. A SM-Liiga, Simontaival was able to come in fifth in total league scoring and seventh in goals with his 25 tallies. Like most skaters with below-average size, you never truly know where they’ll be taken in the draft.
